Middle click

I still have things to chat about when I get round to it, particularly parsnips, the devils food, and giving the people the right to make up their own minds. Perhaps those little phrases will turn into hyperlinks in the near future. Perhaps not.

Anyways, apparently christmas 'tis the season for upgrades, from blogger now in it's new, virtually unchanged except being a little more ugly, google upgrade, to IE7.

So whats new in IE7? Well... it looks kind of pretty, and they've got rid of a bunch of toolbars which I requisitioned back. Because I like them. Also you can do tabbed browsing, but I actually find tabbed browsing annoying. And also, every single time you middle mouse click something it opens a new tab. THIS IS SO ANNOYING. I'm sure for some it's very useful, but I tend to browse pages by middle clicking and then scrolling down that way, and with many pages coated in hyperlinks this now generates a whole host of new tabs, or new pages, after I turned off tabbed browsing off. For the life of me I have no idea how to turn this bloody option off- it appears to be nowhere in the internet tools, and it's not in the mouse options... if anyone knows how please do tell me, because it is getting on my nerves...

Ooh, I've just noticed I can tag this post!

SAVE CHRISTMAS

I know I posted about this last year, but apparently christmas is once again in threat. Yes, some people in some places have chosen to call this holiday the winter holiday rather than the christmas holiday. And... um..... also.... CHRISTMAS IS UNDER THREAT! WITHIN THREE YEARS CHRISTMAS WILL BE BANNED! ARRRRRRGGGGGH!

I mean... come on! It's quite bizzare, the persecution complex some people can develop. Yes, political correctness can often be silly and be taken too far, but surely that is not the big battle to be won? Whether you can call a whiteboard a whiteboard might well be a vague issue, but surely the one that there is genuine discrimination still occuring in this nation is somewhat more important?

There has also been mention in the news that the christian union has been banned at several universities. Well, as I understand it, and to put it more accurately, it's ceased being officially affiliated with the SU. Which is fair enough, because the reason for this is very simple- they discriminate against homosexuals. Sorry, but you shouldn't be allowed public money to discrimate against people. I don't see how saying it's a religious matter makes discrimination ok.

Tagged!

I have been tagged by my cousin, so I must respond....

So, the 6 weird things about me? Umm...

1-I am prone to striking poses- sadly I don't appear to have any photographic evidence of this, but I imagine some of my flatmates of years past might be able to rummage some up.

2-I grew my hair ridiculously long (see my profile picture!), simply because I got a bad haircut beforehand and didn't want to repeat the experience. I finally caved in after having it pointed out that our hair was coated in my hair. Actually... everywhere was.

3-I am a compusive fiddler, and like to have some small object to play with at most times (is that weird enough? I guess most people do something like this).

4-My hands are incredibly shaky, so whenever I am nervous I am simply unable to hold any notes as I won't be able to read them. As a result I almost always memorise any presentation I am going to give.

5-I have the most evil hangovers out of anyone I know. If I drink beyond about 4 pints I will be horribly ill the next day.

6-When younger I was the largest meat fan around. I'd almost always go for the steak, unless there was a mixed grill available.... I am now a vegetarian.

So, that was quite hard work. I tag.... my parents, Ben, Paul, Caitlin, Alice and Venomous Bee
